Thanks all for rescuing me from the insanity of digital classical music. I am re-tagging as follows: - The 'work' name in the Album field (with composer name first as suggested) - Composer in artist field - Artist in composer Problem I have is with these pesky classical music compilations. These comprise of a movement here and a movement there. They aren't 'works'.
If I break them up into, say, 16 separate 'works' I make a mess of the compilation and mislead into thinking the 'work' will be complete where actually it only shows a movement, aria or something. Would you guys advise simply exempting compilations from the system I'm using and treating them like pop music? (i.e. an album comprising of songs?) I'm trying to work out the consequences here before embarking on my mega-retagging operation.... Help most appreciated.
