I have an album which I had previously ripped to Ogg Vorbis format. I am now attempting to rip it to FLAC format but is seems in the intervening years the CD has become damaged and some tracks won't rip. I am therefore proposing to keep the Ogg Vorbis files for those tracks and use FLAC files for the tracks that will rip but I am wondering how replay gain would work across the tracks in that case.
I know vorbisgain and metaflac can calculate the album gain across all the files specified but as they are specific to their own particular formats I can't run either of these across the whole set of files. Is it sufficient to run these tools on their respective sets of files so I end up with two album gain figures one for the FLAC files and one for the Vorbis files and then take the one that demands the greatest reduction in volume and apply it to all the files? -- Fozzy ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fozzy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8592 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92757 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
