I am undoubtedly an idiot, but I have posted on the Max forum, other
subforums, here, googled, and tried multiple times in vain with the
program itself to understand how I can "downsample" some 24/192 tracks
I purchased from HDTracks to 24/96 for use with my SB Touch. I really
cannot figure out how to change the bit rate. These tracks are already
ripped as Flacs, I just need to make them the lower bitrate. Please
help! I need step by step instructions, because I don't know which
encoder to choose, which ripper to choose, how to select my files for
conversion, and then how to run the convert operation! I have a Macbook
Pro with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and use LMS 7.7.1. When the 24/192 albums
are selectd on my Touch, I get the message "unsupported file rate."
When I queried the Touch and Audiophile subforums here, they just told
me to "downsample the files with Max." OK, I have tried, but I don't
know how. None of the options on Max appears to let me select bitrate.
Do I change these Flacs to WAV and then make another conversion to
something else?
