I'd be happy to be involved with such a call-in. I can't say I know enough of the bugs to say whether this is the most important, but it is the most important that affects me.
I actually like the idea of the initial feature request of the bug; to create a separate compilations menu to browse. However, it seems the easiest fix would be to not exclude files because they are not compilations but happen to have the same AA tag as the compilations listing. I can't see that logic being that complicated, and I can't see how that would open any can of worms for others.
