sort of. Actually, when you open the files in mp3tag, select all files
from album, right click, then choose "extended tags", you should see
the COMPILATION tag in the popup panel (and all other fields). 
highlight the compilation field, then click on the little red X that is
just to the right of the field listings in this panel. This DELETES the
compilation tag (not just blanks it).  then save.  Then when you look
at these files again, you should not even see the comp tag.

Then you need to do a clear and rescan in LMS (not just a check for
new).
