I went little further buy adding script options to extract summarized tags and values into tab delimited calc and then use the calc to provide fix values, also drop tags etc. Once tags are normalized in sqlite, they can be replaced in files. The final step is to run "links create" that uses a path pattern to create symlinks to album directory. The idea is a folder browse by normalized tag values (mostly for subsonic).
When normalizing tags, I missed a functionality in puddletag that allows to select valid values other than Genres (I'm thinkng Artist, custom tags like Composer, Work etc.), I've posted a request on puddletag board, fingers crossed :).
