Between SliMP3 server and XP - the s/w is about 10-15 years old so it is
unlikely an update caused the problem and installing latest software is
unlikely to make things better (e.g. I don't know if LMS 7.9 runs on XP)

If the setup worked fine for years and suddenly stoppped - then
something has changed. If you could identify the change (e..g.
reinstalled windows, got new router, changed ISP) then advice would be
more specific.

Assuming server is running on Windows OK (i.e. it is not hung or has
crashed after startup), then the most common problem for no
communication would be network. Check that the Slimp3 server is
registered with XP firewall as a trusted application and that TCP & UDP
port 3483, broadcast UDP onport 3483 and TCP port 9000 are open in the
firewall.
