Are you saying that you have coded a different year in each of the CD's and they have identical album titles and you've set Group Discs to "Treat multi-disc sets as a single album"? If so it seems like you may want to set each disc album title to be suffixed with like "CD1", "CD2", etc so that each disk shows as a separate album.
