It's explicitly stated in the ID3v2.3 spec that the total number of
discs can be communicated after the position of "this" medium, separated
by a "/":

> in the "TALB" frame is divided into several mediums, e.g. a double CD.
> The value may be extended with a "/" character and a numeric string

This is one of the problems with managing a format-heterogenous library;
the fields themselves can be differently named -and- the syntax of the
fields' values.
