I think you also handle albums from different artists with the same name (not only Best of etc.) in the same way? I only set the albumartist when there are tracks that are made by the original artist and someone else together. For compilations (I only treat albums from totally different artists as compilations like "Best of 80s" or so) I set PARTOFACOMPILATION to 1 and ALBUMARTIST to nothing.
