When it comes to tagging, I am a little bit OCD, too. :o I had the same problem when tagging dsf files. Then I discovered a workaround. First, don't use Mp3tag's <Album Artist> on the left. Anything you put here gets written to ALBUMARTIST field in Metadata. However, LMS doesn't seem to get ALBUMARTIST from dsf files. LMS reads ALBUM ARTIST fine. So, you need to go to View -> Extended Tags... and create an ALBUM ARTIST field then put the artist name in the value.
