It is a full pathname, but with a pseudo-FS.

No, the periods were the directory separator. But UnixLib expected
a path with Unix syntax (I don't know why and it seems to be a bug).

Instead of <Choices$Write>.WWW.Browse.Hotlist, I had to write
<Choices$Write>/WWW/Browse/Hotlist.

And Choices$Write is:

  Boot:Choices
