Hello everyone, Twitter has started a pilot program<https://blog.twitter.com/2014/introducing-twitter-data-grants>that will allow access to its public and historical data for research purposes. The access will be granted to only a few institutions, and Berkeley's D-Lab is putting together a bid on behalf of the campus.
Twitter's data archives are expansive and unique, and can be used as a foundation for a broad range of social and other scientific research topics. You may recall that we recently had a speaker from Twitter (Sylvain Carle) at the API meetup, and he has agreed to support the campus bid internally at Twitter, as well as to help scientists work with the data once the access is granted. If you would like to contribute to the bid or participate in other ways, please contact Sebastian Benthall <sbenth...@gmail.com> at the D-Lab. Best, George
