Define what you mean by 'closure'.  A switch that literally completes a circuit 
(like a relay contactor)?  Or something more abstract?

If you've got TCP/IP connectivity, it's easy to send commands through the 
network from one Rivendell system to another to make the remote system do 
various things -- see the 'CC' RML.
