The daemons work when logged in as the original user. Can anyone help?

I am using Ubuntu Lucid. I cloned the drive from another machine and
created another user and changed the host name. I also changed the user
in rd.conf. It is Rivendell 1.7x. I have done this before without any
problem but this time I get an error when trying to start daemons using
/etc/init.d/rivendell start. The error is: Starting Rivendell
daemons:Session management error: None of the authentication protocols
specified are supported.
