Terry:

If I understand right, RD#1 has the database and one Rivendell installation, while RD#2 has az newly built Rivendell installation and uses the database on RD#1.

With RD#2 off line, can you run rdadmin successfully on RD#1? If so, I suggest you immediately back up the database if you haven't done so already.

How does RD#2 differ from RD#1? Is it the same OS version? Same MySQL version?

Hey Rob,
How do we update to the current schema?  It is not a new installation per
se.  In other words, we haven't changed anything on it and have been running
2.0.1 on RD#1 for about 3 months.  This message re RDAdmin occurred when we
tried to add RD#2 to RD#1 (Server and main playout).  We'll be setting up a
NAS over the weekend and hoping that will correct it but in the meantime,
I'm trying to figure out how to update the database on RD#1.

Last week it was working fine except on RD#2 I could open RDAirplay but
couldn't see the logs from RD#1, etc.  Everything was greyed out.

But here is where I have been scratching my head.
             Yesterday, when I went to
open up RDAdmin on RD#1 I get this message:  "The
            Rivendell Database needs
to be updated.  All audio and settings will be
            preserved, but this will STOP
any audio playout or recording on this machine for a
            few seconds.

I've seen that message, but only when I've upgraded to a new Rivendell
version. I believe it means that the database rdadmin is looking at is
one from an earlier Rivendell version, and must be updated to the
current schema.

I have never seen this before and when I click "OK", I get
      this message in
return: "Unable to update Rivendell Database".

Please refresh my memory; you are using Rivendell in a client/server
mode, where the database resides on a server separate from the machine
running the software; is that right?

Is this a new installation? Has it always been running 2.0.1? If not,
what was the previous version?
