Hoggins,

I would leave the numbering as is so you can determine the source of the
tracks, and their veracity.

In my experience presenters are not all that fussy about quality. At one of
my stations presenters routinely plug their phones into the desk so they
can play tracks they have stored there.

Faced with a "which one do I keep?" decision, knowing whence they came
helps the process.

Hacking a global renumber is possible, but where are you at the end of the
process?
