Hello group. I've got a question re RDCatch, and perhaps the legacy LAB program (Linux Audio Backstop) for anyone familiar with it.
One channel of RDCatch/LAB is in use as an hourly logging machine; capturing and logging all broadcasts for commercial verification or FCC compliance. Every 35th day, the system would auto-delete the oldest 28 days in the relevant audio directory. At the end of day 28 out of each 35, the system would send out an email that says: "Time to offload the logger. You have [7 days]". This gives an archivist four weeks of material to transfer to more permanent media, inside a one-week "safe" period to do so before deletion. During the safe period, RDCatch/LAB has already begun the first week of a new cycle. This is probably best suited as a cron job, unless there is something in either LAB or RDC that already does this. If the former, I need some help in fleshing out syntax to make this work. I am by no means a Linux Power User - my complete body of knowledge is just above, "Ugh, fire bad!" - so this will probably be copy-it-now and figure-out-later. Thanks for your help. --AP _______________________________________________ Rivendell-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.rivendellaudio.org/mailman/listinfo/rivendell-dev
