Hi,

This sounds like it is a sample rate issue.  It sounds like for some
reason 
the sound card on the new machine didn't initialize at the same sample
rate as 
your Rivendell audio is recorded.

I've run into this with inexpensive and some onboard sound cards.  The
fact that the M-Audio 
Delta 10/10 played correctly further leads me to believe it is a sample
rate issue - the 
M-Audio 10/10 generally initializes at the correct sample rate.

I have found that if you are using ALSA with one of the cheaper cards
and have this issue, you
can sometimes get around it by specifying the RATE in your
etc/asound.conf file.  I've found this 
can work with some intel audio chipsets, however it has a 50/50 chance
whether or not it'll work.
