So, today was the day I set aqside to upgrade one of my stations from
RD 1.7.2 to 2.1.4.

My plan was to take the machine they're currently using as a file server,
put the new RD on it, update the database, and then tackle their other
machines.

I had precomplied the asihpi driver, but when I installed it wouldn't
work. The module had somehow been compiled for the wrong Linux kernel
(!?), so I recompliled it and re-installed it.

RD 2.1.4 went in without a problem.

Then, when I went to play a cut, the level was down about 15 dB (!) from
where it was on the old RD version.

I'm fairly certain this has something to do with the latest asihpi driver
(4.10.09); the old version (4.02.08) won't compile on this OS (Debian
6.0).

I was reluctantly forced to reverse course and go back to RD 1.7.2,
because the console input really needs +4 dBu and not -10.

Have any of y'all encountered this problem? I tried Googling but got
nothing useful.
