Natural music will create a music schedule using the cart numbers music
is on in RD which it will export as a text file.

You do have the same cart numbers in both systems.

All music schedulers have this facility, and if you are lucky it does a
RD specific one.

The music schedule exported gets saved as tomorrows_music.txt or some
such default name. Maybe ddmmyy.log .. the name is not important.

save the file to a directory that can be accessed by RD. If NL is a
windows program you can mount the directory it saves to as a directory
on the RD server if you are on the same network /home/rd/musiclogs makes
sense

Otherwise sneaker net it over.

Using RDADMIN Services>Production> you can then set the Music import
to use the file created by natural log.

You may need to look at the file in a text editor to see where NL puts
the Time Cart Number Title Artist on each line, and NL will have to know
where the music avails are on your clock(s)

You have lined up both clocks so the music slots are the same.

If you need to you can set up a custom import that picks up the data
from each line of the text file and puts it in the right place in the RD
Log.

The test import lets you see if it works. [very useful]

bit of fiddling and you have an import that you can run when you create
the log.

In an ideal setup the log creation and import of ads and music is done
as a cron job.

Don't forget the external music scheduler needs to be updated when music
is added to Rivendell

hope this helps
