You should NOT have to. The driver is in all 'RHEL' based OSes (the appliance cd). Should have a PERC4 if it's a standard pe2850. See [1], section Red Hat. You will have to reboot the machine and hit 'Control - M' to configure the raid containers and disk setup. After that the installer should see the array.
