For some reason, some of my files were only +rw for user, not group. The rest were user.group +rw. I'm guessing that was a change in RD in one of my upgrades that I didn't really notice. (Probably the 2.0 rc0 I was using before, but since this machine has been running since 0.9.74 or so, there's no telling). Once I added +rw for group on all the files, the mp2 ones show the waveform data. I did check permissions on everything else, just to be sure...and it turned out to be the /var/snd. Very finicky, but understandable. Thanks again for the tip, Lorne!!! Fred, Did reading the energy file for ogg files get taken out in 2.1.5 (or somewhere between rc0 and 2.1.5)? I can get waveform for all the mp2, but none of the ogg files. Permissions and attributes are the same for the .wav and the .energy on all these. They play fine, but you can't edit any markers on them as there's no waveform data. Just a blank are where the waveform should be. Thanks!
