Probably. Linux runs on lots of processors with different instruction sets. They are usually SOURCE compatible, not BINARY compatible. ==== wikipedia quote ==== Atom implements the x86 (IA-32) instruction set; x86-64 is so far only activated for the desktop Diamondville and desktop and mobile Pineview cores. The Atom N2xx and Z5xx series Atom models cannot run x86-64 code.[20] ==== end quote ==== The Live CD is for the "x86-64" instruction set.On Monday 27 > I note a Ubuntu package and Ubuntu IS running on the trial > system, so that is what I will try next. Make sure you get the correct version. You need to match both the CPU and the version of Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Rivendell-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.rivendellaudio.org/mailman/listinfo/rivendell-dev
