For me, darkice works best when it shouts to a server on localhost or
the lan. SHouting over longer distances has always led to trouble for
me. I shout locallt and relay to the remote box that is the real
server.

Can't help you there, I have played around some with liquid soap but
not enough to be of much help to anyone.
