Hi guys, Just out of curriosity, is there an open source alternative for Music Scheduling ?
I can join the ideas of Morten. If Rivendell had just a few more features, I would also not opt for an external scheduler. A few things : - Scheduler rules could just a little more advanced. for example : choise between : Don't play after and only play after. - An "add button" to add an extra rule (not limited to 3) - The 'last played'-time altered to 'last-scheduled' time. - Title seperation based on 'last-played' time One of the biggest issues, with almost every music scheduler, would entering data. I have looked into 'Rapid Evolution 3' by Mixshare, It is a piece of freeware soft, which is very popular in the DJ world. ( http://www.mixshare.com/software.html) It gets every single parameter you need out of your library. (except for intro times and gender) I've tested it on /var/snd. (Runs under JAVA, thus also under linux) and with in half an hour I had all the information I needed. nicely written in an XML data file. But since I am a NOOB in databases, it still sits there. And not able to merge it in MySQL This would be a great feature, and would put you miles ahead of competition. Even if this data ought to be loaded in an external sheduler, I would still be a massive time saver.
