Finally tracked down the simple detail that solved my issue. After copying /var/snd to the new machine, and restoring the db from the old machine, none of the snd files appeared until I added the user name that had been on the previous install. Now we're back on track. Thanks to Robert and Alessio for kind assistance! Steve
