I have a client that takes advantage of that very feature. Much of their day is filled with paid programming, and Rivendell puts the studio on the air and then waits for the top of the hour, which is the end of the paid programming slot. It then cuts off the studio, plays a legal ID, a newscast, a commercial break, and then (usually) goes back to the studio for the next paid program.
