Hello Alan,

I've been using at a small (very small) radio station at transmitter site.

At studio we have liquidsoap + icecast streaming at 256Kbps with no
processing at all, just some headroom to avoid distortion.

At transmitter site we have a linux computer running a chain like that:

mplayer -> fifo file -> cat -> stereotool -> aplay

Aplay sends 44.1khz sound to a simple USBcard connected to our
pira.czstereo coder.

The only issues we have are the streaming delay and sometimes some dropouts
caused by our bad ISP.

I wrote a script that is called by .bashrc and runs under a specifc user
that has "autologin" (mingetty).

I'll send you a copy if it helps somehow.

Regards.
