Hello all, new to Rivendell, been playing with it for a few months, also relatively new to linux although keen to learn, picking stuff up all the time. To the point, I am running the RRabuntu version of Rivendell, I installed it off of the installable CD, my machine has 2 soundcards, 1 is built in, Intel, and a Delta 44. Both were working fine, I used the Intel for the sound panel and the audition /cue and the Delta for main playout and VT record.
Recently installed chrome on the box, and since then (it's the only change I can come up with) the Intel card works fine, but the Delta 44 doesn't. It is recognised, and appears in alsamixer, it appears in rdalsaconfig, to all intents the card exists and is loaded, but when you try and play something to it, no sound comes out and the VU / level meters either show no audio or are stuck EG at -20. During this I can fire off sound panel to the intel no trouble and the VU's are fine, then when they revert to the main log output, they are locked again. I tried moving the card into different slots no change, I tested the card in a windows box, no problem, so it looks like a linux issue, and perhaps a resource conflict, but as the only change was installing Chrome, not sure what it can of done! Other than wipe and reinstall, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Wayne
