the final addendum to this, Debian 7 Wheezy, you can only drop down
ONE record per sound card (got everything else out and testing ONE
card now with 4 playback slots) if you drop down more then one
playback slot Jack will produce an error and Rivendell will not show
up because in Jack everything after the first error - so far in my
testing - did not show up in the connection tab although the deamons
are running so this is not an airtight check
ps -o pid,user,group,command -C jackd -C pulseaudio -C rdcatchd -C caed -C
ripcd -C apache2 -C mysqld

it (rdalsaconfig) only accepts a maximum of eight hence my question,
the best doc on it was in here
https://wiki.wmfo.org/@api/deki/files/377/=Rivendell_2_on_Ubuntu_1104.pdf
and this also advises to drop everything down while wondering why
there are more then one per sound card, I use 4 cards, for 8 months I
was motivated by this youtube to build a Rivendell setup,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUlZWymR3-4 this setup should have
more then one card in this setup to be able to have the DJ set his
own timing in "the segue" per record / jingle, almost evrything works
now after I excluded the top 2 in this screen (I took the first 2 per
sound card) which obviously generated Jack errors and rebooted, this
is mainly the result of trial and error without having a single clue
about WHAT I am doing here and WHY it works now without these errors

Yes it is, down all and save, from Avaible to Active

In the process of setting up ALSA on a DJ station with 4
soundcards I have started up RDAlsaConfig and get this screen.
Am I supposed to move all the records in the top to the bottom
part of the screen? Or just certain parts? Which ones then and
why would you choose these?
