I've had errors upgrading from old versions.  What I've found is ...
- I install a new version of Rivendell (i.e. 2.5.3) which creates a
database for me.
- I then import the old database in (i.e. mysql -p -u rd Rivendell <
rivendell-1.7.2.sql)
- I run rdadmin and get errors on the db upgrade.

However, if I delete the database the new install created for me before
importing the old database I get no errors on the db upgrade.
