Hi, all. . .

I'm more of an "advanced user" than I am an engineer. . . so, here's my
situation:

Running Rivendell 2.5.1 on Linux Mint 9. I have a Broadcast Tools ACS 8x2 which
switches our different audio sources to on-air and to a secondary output that
we use for recording. One of our sources is a Wegener Unity 4000.

I know *nothing* about how relays work.

I ultimately want to be able to program Rivendell to use relays sent during
satellite programming.

For argument's sake, let's say I'm carrying an SRN talk program:
SHOW CLOCK: http://www.srnonline.com/Downloads/pdfs/talkclock.pdf
RELAYS: http://tech.srnradio.com/unity/relays-non.shtml

(I chose SRN because many of their shows have hard-timed segments--this would
help me in experimenting to see if I have everything set up right, so I can be
more confident when we air a show that has floating breaks.)

I have no idea how Rivendell would know what relay is what? Does it "listen"
via the Unity or via the ACS? Do I need additional software, hardware and/or
wiring?

Is there a good place online where I can learn about how these things work, so
I can determine what I need to do?

If not. . . has anyone else dealt with a similar setup; and, can you provide a
good A-to-Z tutorial on what I need to do?

Thanks for your help!
