Hey folks, For those of you who have been avoiding using darkice as your stream encoder, you may want to check out the latest trunk over at: svn checkout */http/*://darkice.googlecode.com/svn/darkice/trunk/ darkice-read-only
I've been helping Kalle Kulonen improve darkice's stability when streaming to a remote Icecast/Shoutcast server. I'm pleased to say that the changes Kalle implemented have greatly improved darkice's stability. I've been running it for several days with a sometimes-shaky connection to Icecast and it has successfully recovered every time there has been network issues. I've tried other encoders but none are as efficient or as straightforward as darkice. I suggest you give it a look (or give it another look, as the case may be)!
