Hi,
JACK needs to have all the processes that use it running as the same
user. The usual thing that catches people out is that caed, ripcd and
rdcatchd has the super user bit set which means they always run as root.
Try sudo chmod -s caed ripcd rdcatchd
Then restart the services (JACK first). Also it might be worth running
rdalsaconfig and removing all the sound cards from the list so Riv
doesn't try to steal any real sound cards on the system.

Hello, I hope this is the right place to ask a question and I hope someone
can help us get Rivendell working for streaming.
We have installed the appliance Centos version of Rivendell. And of course
that went very well =-)We are trying to switch to Rivendell from NexGen.
The problem, for us, is that for some reason, we cannot get the audio to
jack so that we can use edcast to send the stream out without a sound card.
As for me I am new to Centos, but we do have someone who is working with us
who know it very well.
Any thoughts or help would be deeply appreciated.
Kindest Regards,
Thomas Evert
