Hi,
I'm pretty sure Riv will just spawn threads based on as many outputs as
you have. I only have two outs +1 for the sound panel and I can see
overlapping load/unload on the main two outs.
The Sound panel can play all the buttons at the same time (or at least I
gave up after clicking a panels worth to find out if there was a limit).
As for the fades if you have timed events it will hard cut. The way I
got around that was to use Aux logs for the automated fades on the main log.
As for the resolution, I usually have 5 second fades and I get this sort
of stuff in the caed logs:
14/08/2014 - 00:59:55.114 : FadeLevel: -60
14/08/2014 - 00:59:55.214 : FadeLevel: -120
It continues in -60 increments every 1/10th of a second all the way down
to -3000. I assume making the fade longer would decrease the difference
each 1/10th.

I was just wondering what the resolution is of the fading that happens
between segues in RDAirPlay?
ie: how many dB or point thereof does each step of the fade take in
ALSA and through ASI cards over say a 7000 fade during segue?
I'm also curious as to how many play threads can run at a time when
just playing the log. Now and then I thought I hear the previous song
unload without the fade completely finishing if there was a sweeper as
well as the next song playing. This could just be the resolution of
the fading or the drivers for my audio card so thought I'd ask.
Cheers,
Gavin.
