Hi,

With Jack I find it depends a lot on the speed of the CPU you have, what
sound card you're running, how much memory you've got, and what else is
running on the machine too.

In this case is Icecast, Jack, and Rivendell all running on the same
machine?  And if it is, is Icecast being used to send the stream to
another server, or are listeners connecting directly to that Icecast
server?

One other thing with the GX280's (which won't be related to Jack
overruns, but something to check) - they were one of the lines of Dell's
that is known for having been made with bad capacitors.  On 280's I've
worked with, I always have a look at the capacitors and if they look at
all questionable then I'll re-cap the motherboard.
