Good Timing!

So I ran some further tests on my experience with this:

On a machine running Debian Wheezy 64-bit (fully updated) I get this with the Tryphon 2.10-1 binary package:

1) Macros do not run from buttons, audio files do.
2) Using RMLSEND, I found the "EX <macro cart #>" does not work, but most other commands do (tested "LC", "JC"," JD", "PP", "PW", "PM") 3) In /var/log/messages I get simple one-line message about RML commend "EX ..." received in all cases, but nothing happens.

So I'm thinking the button panels call the same function to execute a macro cart as the "EX" command does and that is what quit working.

On yet another computer I have an unconfigured (well it plays things, but unlike other copies of Rivendell I have, it is NOT set up to function as a backup copy to our station) copy of 32-bit Tryphon's Rivendell running on Debian "unstable" (Sid), which appears to execute macros from button panels fine. So is it possible it is an interface to shared library of a certain version that does not quite agree?

Our main station is running on Debian "Squeeze" and is running 2.9.2 (which has a broken "reports" generator which was fixed in the 2.10x versions), but I am afraid to attempt an upgrade on it as macros from buttons functionality is crucial to its operation (especially at this time due to lots of high school sports remote broadcasts).

I have yet another "backup" (meant to become a new main onair machine someday) that runs Debian Wheezy 32-Bit Rivendell (and is currently at Version 2.9.1 or earlier), that I'd like to also not mess with too much in case it is needed.

So if those with the ability to repair this problem would like me to run further tests to help resolve this problem, I can (even if it means installing some version of Rivendell on some version of Linux on yet another separate machine) as it would be nice to get the problem resolved so we can upgrade our on-air machine so to restore our traffic log reconciliation function as well as be able to further upgrade to future versions.

Both of my RD Machines aren't recognizing any of my commands when I
program them into my computer...... It recognizes the sleep command,
but other than that, it won't recognize any other command..... Any
suggestions please?

Hi Ryan
There is a graphical program to send commands to your Rivendell machine.
In a terminal type "rmlsend"
One the box opens up type in the Send To field "localhost" or the
ipnumber of your machine.
Try a command like "LB Hello World!
and see if a message appears in the message field on rdairplay. Make
sure rdairplay is open before you do it.
It is possible that something is blocking port 3306 that rml commands
get sent on.
I hope this helps
Many Thanks
