Every now and then I experience rdairplay crashes for no obvious reason. Here is the latest:

Yesterday morning I got in my car to drive to a station in New Hampshire. My radio came on tuned to a Boston station I consult that runs Rivendell. It was silent, so I ran back into the house and VNC'd in to see why. I found an empty desktop; rdairplay had died.

I restarted rdairplay with today's log and went on my way. I've seen rdairplay crash at other stations too, usually after running for several weeks, and leaving nothing in any log that offers any clue. A song will start playing, and no log entry will appear at the time of the actual crash.

The aircheck from yesterday indicates the audio went silent at 4:37:42 AM, in the middle of a song.

The last entries in rdairplay.log before the crash are:

13/01/2015 - 04:34:57.012 : finished event: Line: 136 Cart: 501334 Cut: 1 Card: 0 Stream: 0 Port: 0

The last entries in caed.log before the crash are:

There are no more entries in either log until 6:20, when I restarted rdairplay. Cut 502310_001 is 3:33.4 long, so it should have contiued playing until 4:38:30.4, unless my math is wrong.

The audio cut plays correctly in rdlibrary.

This is Rivendell version 2.8.1, installed from source, running under CentOS 6 on two year old hardware. It's using an ASI5111 sound card and hpklinux-4.10.15. The machine was last booted on September 13.

Can anyone suggest anywhere I might look for more clues?
