I'm a recent convert to the world of Rivendell, and trying to make
everything work together in harmony. So far, Ubuntu doesn't see the ASI
card, and neither does Rivendell. I'm hoping someone on the list can
provide insight.

*Software/Drivers:*
Ubuntu Linux, 14.04.02
ASI HPI 4.14.03
JACK 3.1.1

*Hardware:*
AudioScience ASI 5211

I've blacklisted PulseAudio, and generally followed James Harrison's guide
on Installing Rivendell for Ubuntu:
http://www.talkunafraid.co.uk/2011/02/installing-rivendell-on-ubuntu/ .
Still, even after browsing various message boards, no luck.

Once this system is functioning properly, my preferred signal chain is:

*Output:*
Rivendell -> ASI Card -> Analog Out to Mixer

*Input:*
Mixer -> ASI Card -> JACK -> StereoTool -> liquidsoap

* Do I need the HPI drivers at all? Rivendell currently sees that they are
installed, but are inactive.
* Jack fails to start. (jackd -dalsa -dhw:0 -r 48000 -n3 -s). It apparently
sees the HDMI out of my video card (NVidia Quadro K420), and "falls back to
capture mode."

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nicholas
