Hi all,

I seem to be getting rdairplay freezes that might be related to a mysqldump that happens at exactly the same time. Has anyone noticed this being an issue? I've been doing this for 2 years now with no problems until last week so its got me confused.

For more in depth info, I've been running a slightly customised Riv 2.5 on Debian 6. Then Thursday, last week rdairplay freezes at approx 21:15 (all clocks, levels etc freeze and if you click close it just sits there dying until you run kill in a terminal). All you have to do is open airplay again and set it going for another day. It was then fine until Tuesday and so far 21:15 every day, same problem.

While this happens whatever is currently playing continues to play until it finishes and then you get a nice loud buzzing noise (maybe some sort of audio card loop of the last sample).

So my silence alarms don't go off and the transmission company phones me.

All logs I can find are clean (caed, ripcd, rdcatchd, rdairplay, /var/log stuff). The only thing that happens at that time is I do a mysqldump of the Riv database.

The dump has happened every day at 21:15 since 2013 so I don't see why its causing problems all of a sudden.

I've turned off the dump for now but its bugging me why this is an issue for no apparent reason. I have options with slave databases etc so its not the end of the world just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems?

Regards,

Wayne
