Hi,

In addition to the CPU requirements, I believe there are also patent
issues that come into play doing it with software.  As for the ASI
cards, audioscience takes care of any licensing issues (I admit, I am
not sure who holds the patent, but I recall reading somewhere that this
type of time scaling is still under patent protection).
