Yeah, I know what you are doing--building a processor around Stereo Tool. The Trace Alpha has only one output, which limits its usefulness with Rivendell. Although we have never tested it, the Marion and ESI cards are the only ones that claim they will deliver output down to DC. I cannot hear that low myself, but I suppose there is a reason that matters. With onboard sound now universal, we are a select group that still needs soundcards. That apparently is not enough of a market to keep all soundcard makers in business. Avid started the shutdown by spinning off M-Audio; now ESI in Germany appears troubled, if not dead. American manufacturers are less concerned with the price-point than the Europeans, but it looks as if the German model of higher quality at lower price has some troubles. I looked around for some German news about ESI, but I don't know my way around the German trades well enough to know all the places to look. One of my contacts is at the German electronics supply store Conrad; he has no idea what happened to ESI, but says Conrad no longer sell ESI products. It looks like farewell to a company that made quality products. --Chuck W. _______________________________________________ Rivendell-dev mailing list [email protected] http://caspian.paravelsystems.com/mailman/listinfo/rivendell-dev
