Still struggling to re-instate edit markers in RDlibrary on my Broadcast
Appliance v2.10.3 (centos 6.7). I've read all the suggestions here and
elsewhere, checked error logs, checked the httpd conf files and all look
normal (to me the linux 2nd grader). I fear, as many have suggested,
I've allowed one too many updates. One day things are fine, next day
markers are gone. After weeks of research and angst, I re-installed the
Broadcast Appliance disc. Yeah! everythings good again....until I
re-load my database and here are the carts....and gone are the markers.
Oh, maybe this is a clue: when attempting to restart httpd the error
reads "apr_sockaddr_info_get() failed for rdhost httpd: could not
reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using
127.0.0.1 for ServerName"
This is a free standing box with a static address; applied both to the
network card and the host settings within RDadmin. I tried changing the
host address back to the looping 127.0.0.1 to see if apache liked that
better, but no joy there either. Perhaps I should change the
"localhost" reference in httpd conf file to my static ip address. At
this point I don't have a previous working rd-bin file to copy over this
one (as Wayne has suggested), so for want of a better idea my next step
will be to again re-install the appliance dvd....but then how to get the
db safely back without this same issue. I guess copy the new rd-bin
file before restoring the db, then overwrite it after the .sql restore.
It's that or back to the yak ranch.
Any thoughts/threads greatly appreciated.
-Steve
