True, but since it the issue appeared to be hardware related. At some time before "throwing in the towel", a better option is to call someone up (Paravel) and say "Can you send me something that just works out of the box?".

Note I've had to fight hardware problems with ASI cards twice before, both on Windows systems. Once was with an older card (3000 series I think, I must say ASI cards do seem to run forever!), that would not work well with Adobe Audition. I had both ASI and Adobe working on this and the only solution was to buy a newer ASI card, which worked. Another time there was some sort of compatibility (now posted on ASI's website) between certain Intel chipsets and certain ASI cards. So we had to use a different computer for our ASI card.

So these things happen which is why a turnkey system can save a lot of grief. Note I usually choose the "grief" route, but don't always recommend it to others.
