Thanks Robert for a lovely article - sounds worthy of a wiki upload to me
(wink).

My vetting process for audio files is simple:
 - using Audacity, preview audio on a different machine than airplay (which
machine is set up only for airplay audio)
- clean up tags or enter them manually (artist, title, album, year, label) if
needed; then
- rdimport into Riv library

Robert, are any of the tools you mentioned multi platform?
