Moving on.... I found I had to modify /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf to enable the usb and disable the onboard audio. I didn't realize just how noisy the on-board audio was until I listened to the usb output.
Now I still haven't been able to get this to import mp3 files but it will import waves. Also, the countdown pie does not change. It is always green. Not a big issue but that would be handy. The clocks countdown no problem. Baby steps. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, December 29, 2015 11:00 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Rivendell-dev Digest, Vol 32, Issue 38 Send Rivendell-dev mailing list submissions to [email protected] To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://caspian.paravelsystems.com/mailman/listinfo/rivendell-dev or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to [email protected] You can reach the person managing the list at [email protected] When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of Rivendell-dev digest..." However, two things... 1. When accessing Menu>Rivendell>Configuration>RDAlsaConfig a desktop error message comes up stating Invalid desktop entry file '/usr/local/share/applications/Rivendell-rdalsaconfig-root.desktop. I'm thinking it is a permissions problem but not sure. 2. Cannot set up an external USB audio box. When I do start the above rdalsaconfig as root, I can see the usb box and enable it. It then appears in the asound.conf file but not in the RDAdmin host setup file. Any clues?
