Not sure bug wise but I concur with the VBR MP3 thing. I always ran
mine through audacity to either a CBR MP3 or a flat wav before importing.
You could use ffmpeg to achieve the same thing and knock up a bash
script to loop through an entire directory. Sadly you'll have to
re-import (unless you can flat wav/mp2 to the correct file name for
whatever carts you have).
