Also if the module is loaded, check the permissions:

admin@rivendell:~$ ls -l /dev/asihpi

crw-rw---- 1 root audio 10, 56 Mar  8 14:57 */dev/asihpi*

You need to make sure your rivendell login user is a member of the audio
group

sudo useradd -G audio $USER

Then reboot and try accessing it again. You could verify this is the
problem by running the rdhpiinfo as root.
