Hi Andy,
in a console as root run alsamixer and check that the line in on the
sound card is selected as an input [default is mic] the input is un
muted and the volume is set to suit the audio in.
esc when set; then run 'alsactrl store 0' to save the settings. You need
the card number. Centos may bleat about file not available. mkdir the
location and then repeat the store.
hint: arrow keys navigate; space bar selects; MM toggles with m. Lots of
other keys have functions; man alsamixer tells all.
thats wheer i would start.
regards
Robert

I'm trying to get RD to take the on the hour newsfeed live via
satellite plugged into the line-in of a stand-a-lone system running
v2.15.1.
It's only got an onboard soundcard at the moment. I've set up a local
audio adapter switcher on Matrix 0 for Card 0, Input 1, Output 1 and
they show on the Configure Inputs and Configure Outputs list (left
with default names).
I've configured RDCatch to record Card 0 Port 0 (won't let me select
anything else) Switcher Matrix for Local Audio Adapter and to the
output to Output 001 (default name).
I've used the script from
http://rivendell.tryphon.org/wiki/How_do_I_make_Rivendell_play_Audio_from_the_%22Line_In%22_of_the_Sound_Card_on_the_air%3F
just editing the displayed text, but still no sound playing through
from the line-in.
Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or what I've missed would be
gratefully received!
Thanks
